OpenAI (ChatGPT) SMS messages — what it actually sends

OpenAI

OpenAI verifies new accounts with an SMS code. This page shows what those messages look like — the sender IDs, the wording, the countries they land in. The codes themselves are redacted: the feed is the reference, not a way to read someone else's login.

Which countries OpenAI delivers to

What we know about each OpenAI route, labelled by its source. Routes we have measured ourselves come first; a route we know nothing about says so in words.

The limitations, plainly

Public pools are shared, recycled, and frequently already flagged by anti-fraud vendors. OpenAI may refuse a public number outright, or accept it and never deliver the code.

Any code that does arrive on a free number is visible to everyone reading the page — including whoever used that number before you. For an account you intend to keep, that is a real risk, not a theoretical one.

OpenAI messages, in detail

  • Why are the codes hidden?

On purpose. This feed exists to show what OpenAI sends — the sender IDs, the wording, the shape of the message — not to hand out live codes. Publishing the digits would mostly serve people trying to enter accounts that aren't theirs.

  • What does OpenAI actually send?

OpenAI verifies new accounts with an SMS code.

The feed above shows the message shapes we've observed, with the code replaced by dots. Sender IDs vary by country and by OpenAI's own routing — the same flow can arrive from a branded ID in one country and a generic gateway ID in another.

  • Why didn't a OpenAI code reach my free number?

OpenAI, like most large services, filters public pools. The number may be refused at the form, or accepted with the code silently dropped. That's a property of shared numbers, not of this site.

  • What's different about a private OpenAI number?

It isn't in a public pool, so it isn't pre-flagged the way shared numbers are. Before you pay we show what we actually know about the route — our own measurement with its sample size, a named supplier's figure, or a plain "no data yet" — and if no code arrives, you don't pay.

Every route below is one click away. Open a country to see its services, or jump straight to a service hub.
